BOROUGH LOCAL PLAN
The Regulation 19 consultation on the Borough Local Plan has now closed.
In December 2016/January 2017, residents were invited to comment on the Draft Borough Local Plan (proposing more than 350 new homes in Datchet). This was known as the 'Regulation 18 Consultation'.
The Infrastructure Plan for Datchet
At this stage, the main purpose of the Borough's Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) is to identify the infrastructure which will be necessary to support the development proposed in the Borough Local Plan (BLP), and to outline how and when this will be delivered. There will be no detailed proposals or plans available until the planning application stage which is some years ahead; most of the new housing development proposed for Datchet is likely to take place between 2022 and 2033.
In Datchet, the IDP considers the following:
The next stage
After collating and processing all the representations (comments) received during the Regulation 19 publication stage, RBWM prepared a report which summarised the issues raised and set out its response to them. This report, together with all the representations received during the representation period, the plan and its supporting documents, have been submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government and are being examined by the Planning Inspector.

There will be no detailed proposals or plans available until the planning application stage which is some years ahead; most of the new housing development proposed for Datchet is likely to take place between 2022 and 2033.
In Datchet, the IDP considers the following:
- TRAFFIC CONGESTION There are 28 congested junctions in the borough which are said to need ‘remodelling’ if development goes ahead. One of these is at the top of the High Street, in the middle of the village.
- SCHOOLS Additional primary school places will be required to support the proposed development. Possible building within Churchmead School’s site to offer extra primary school places is a ‘desktop exercise’ at this stage.
See also 'Delivering More School Places' , a report from RBWM. - CYCLE NETWORK FOR DATCHET and Cycling Action Plan schemes, considered of low priority in relation to the BLP.
- BYPASS of B470 London Road/B376 Slough Road. The summer 2017 IDP included details of a bypass of B470/B376 identified by the Highways Authority to support development in the BLP. This would be provided as part of the development and classed as 'medium priority'. The January 2018 version of the IDP did not refer to a bypass or relief road specifically although the description for housing site HA42 on London Road notes that this development creates an 'opportunity to link Riding Court Road with Slough Road'.
